Commissioner general of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said that an average of ten children in Gaza lose one or both their legs every day, as the “Israeli” aggression on the besieged strip raged to unprecedented levels.

"Basically we have every day 10 children who are losing one leg or two legs on average," Lazzarini told reporters in Geneva, citing figures from the UN children's agency UNICEF.

These numbers did not include children who lost hands or arms, he added.

On the issue of funding to UNRWA, Lazzarini said that the agency secured it until the “end of August.”

"We have cash until end of August," he said, as UNRWA has been facing a cash crunch since January, when many countries suspended funding after “Israel” claimed that a dozen of its 13,000 Gaza employees were involved in the events of Oct. 7, 2023.
